Help!! I am really in a bind and I need to get this done today (of course, isn't that always how it goes)

I am trying to close out my 2004 T/B and A/R so that I can start to do my january billing but when I go to do year end processing for both A/R and T/B I get the following error message:

The following tasks have not been performed. You must complete them before proceeding with this function.

General ledger transactions report has not been printed and cleared.

In T/B I ran the "period end reports" G/L transactions and answered "y" to consolidate.

In A/R I ran the "Print/Consolidate G/L Transactions report"

But, it continues to give me the error message that I have not printed the general ledger transactions report. Have I printed the wrong one? if so, where is the one located that I need to print. Thanks for your help!!

The error message is:

General ledger transactions report has not been printed and cleared.

The operative word is "CLEARED". You say that you consolidated the transactions but do no mention if you retrieved into the G/L.

You must retrieve the subledger batches into the G/L or while in the subleger print to paper and you will be offered an option to "CLEAR".

However, I suspect you will want to retrieve the batches into the G/L and ff you do not want to post the transaction in the G/L you will need to archive the batch.

Do you have ledger data? If so, then printing the report will never clear the file. You have the option of consolidating but not clearing.

The correct procedure here would be to open the ledger program (Adagio or Accpac Plus) and retrieve the sub-ledger batches for AR, TB or whichever appropriate applications there are.

If you do not have ledger data, then printing the GL Transactions report will give you a second message 'do you want to clear the file' after the consolidation question. Note you have to print the report to paper or a file (not previewing) to get the clearing message.
