When accounts are adding together they will not show the correct total and when I look at the details, the detail has the correct total, which is different then the total showing on the financial statement. Do you know what is happening?

I can't really say exactly what might be happening without a little more information. If I understand, the Financial Statement is outputting a number that is different than what you are expecting based on what you see in Adagio Ledger.

A couple of questions:
- How is this total being calculated on the Financial Statement? Is it a sum of cells, or an =ADGET formula, or something else? If you can post here the formula used here to calculate the total, perhaps we can determine if this issue is related to how the formula is defined or another scenario.

- Are you trying to add amounts from a range of accounts and/or departments? Or perhaps a few individual accounts? It's possible that if you are trying to do a range of accounts, and departments are also used, that the syntax for the range isn't quite correct - resulting in unexpected numbers.

- Can you give an example of a total, along with the associated details, showing what's happening and what you expected to happen?

There is a new version of Adagio Ledger now shipping (6.8B) with an updated and improved Financial Reporter. One of the things we addressed is how account ranges are read and calculated, making it more intuitive, so perhaps this might be useful for you.

The formula that is being used is-`,=ADGET("GLDATA.BAL",$B13), which is adding one single account and two ranges of accounts as follows 1320,8000:8999-`,2900:2999-`,. We did figure out what was happening. I did not have the accounts listed in numerical order, so the accounts listed as 1320,8000:8999-`,2900:2999-`did not work, but 1320,2900:2999-`,8000:8999-`,did. So I guess you need to put the accounts in the numerical order in order for it to add all the accounts in.

Thanks for the update. I wouldn't have expected the order of the accounts to make a difference, as they shouldn't. Was the problem that the amounts from accounts 2900:2999 were not part of the total?

From what you posted for your account range syntax, the issue may have arisen based on what you had selected for the Consolidated or Departmentalized setting on the toolbar. For accounts 2900 to 2999, do you have departments defined? If not, then having anything other than Consolidated selected on the toolbar would skip these accounts. If you want the 2900 to 2999 account range and departments are not used here, then you should remove the -` after the range. These characters are department locators and are not necessary when departments are not used for a specific range.

I couldn't duplicate the incorrect total with Adagio Ledger 6.8B, when account ranges and departments are not listed in numerical order. Mind you, I did not have -` after accounts that did not use departments (such as Balance Sheet accounts).

Yes accounts 2900:2999 were not included in the total. All my accounts have departments and this problem arised when I selected consolidated.
