Hi Evelyn,
Quik Check for Windows should automatically clear licenses when programs are closed. If you do not have any multi-user paks installed, you should be allowed to have up to 2 users get access into Quik Check for Windows. If the second user in cannot access the program, here are a couple of things to check:
- Do you use any other software that utilizes the Softline database interface (for example, Contact Master for Windows)? Quik Check for Windows uses this same database interface, and the max number of users (2) is shared across all programs that use this interface.
- Make sure that the \3rdparty\working directory on the network is read/write sharable for both users, and that Opportunistic Locking / File Caching is disabled on both machines. A possible problem is that one user is using the database interface file, and the system settings are not allowing the second user to read that file.
- If you have any multi-user paks, reinstall them.
- It's possible that there is a conflict between the program (and more specifically, the database interface) and the Netware Client version. I'm not aware of any known issues with multiple users and Client32, but have heard of other problems running this database under newer versions of Windows and networks.
Quik Check for Windows has been discontinued for some time, and has been replaced by Adagio Checks. This is a 32-bit program that uses an updated database interface, addressing some issues the old interface experienced. It looks and works like Quik Check for Windows, with many new features (ie data backup, security, nicer reports, improved smart-finder, etc), and doesn't convert your data (so you don't have to re-do your check specs).
Regards,
