We recently initiated the fax portion of the Adagio Receivables. When I sent a letter to all 435 customers, I had it put the customer heading and address on each letter. They were faxxed to the wrong fax number. The addressee received a fax addressed to a different customer. I am going to try to send them in batches of 50 or so and see how that works.

Hello Jim,

Wow. This is a mystery. It has never been reported before.

When you try to View faxes, if you try to view a Fax that has not completed, you will get the message, Fax file is missing, unable to continue.

However, you will be able to use Edit to see the Fax number that was used to Fax to. You should be able to print the Completed faxes as well. Hopefully this helps to isolate the issue.

Is there anything unusual about the specification that you used? Are all of the Specification codes and information fields in the same section? For a letter, they should all be in the Header section. Another section to check is the End of Page marker. Make sure that the specification has one and check the properties to ensure that the section height is 0.000.

Keep me posted.

I tried to send only 50 faxes and had the same problem. However, they were still from the same specification as the previous. Today 5-8-02, I tried to send invoices that I had posted. There were ten invoices that were generated. The list below tries to explain what happened when I reviewed them in the fax queue.

inv # Fax picked Inv #
25012 fax file missing
25013 25012
25014 25013
25015 25014
25016 25015
25017 25017
25018 25018
25019 fax file missing
25020 25019
25021 25021

The header info in the fax queue was correct, drawing the correct fax number etc., however when I viewed the fax, it was the wrong fax in many cases, as listed above.

Any suggestions??

Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delay, Softrak has been hosting a conference and we are shortstaffed at the office today.

I had no luck duplicating this problem in my testing yesterday, with letters in Adagio Receivables. However, we are still investigating this issue.

Are you faxing from Invoices from Adagio OrderEntry or were you sending Statements from Receivables?

THE FIRST TWO TIMES I TRIED, I WAS DOING LETTERS FROM RECEIVABLES. THE LAST TIME, I WAS DOING INVOICES FROM ORDER ENTRY. HOWEVER IT APPEARS THE SAME PROBLEM IS OCCURING IN BOTH MODULES. IT IS NOT SELECTING THE PROPER FAX NUMBER FROM THE CUSTOMER DATA BASE TO GO WITH THE PROPER INVOICE OR LETTER.

Hello Jim,

I just want to make sure that you received the updates from our R&D department. Many thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. I'm surprised that it has not been reported before (although it turned out to be a timing problem which showed up only on fast equipment - perhaps an indication of the hardware the majority of our clients are using ).

Thanks for your patience.
