Dear Beth

You say you are using Sales Analysis by Softrak version 6.5A? Data files for this version begin with "SR", not "SA". Also, there is no such file in our V6.5A datafile structure. There could be older files in your database that have (for some reason) either not converted properly from an older version of our product, or still exist (possibly from a Computer Associates' older Sales Analysis version?).

Normally, an error message such as this indicates a problem with the file described.

Here are some suggestions...

1. At the WSM Start List, make sure you are accessing the correct database using the correct version of Sales Analysis V6.5A.

To do this, select the Sales Analysis Start List item that you are using to print the detailed reports. When the entry is highlighted, press <Tab>. This will bring up the application prefix (SR), the drive and directory pathing for the Sales Analysis data being accessed and finally, the datafile extension (.aat).

The application prefix should be "SR" if in fact you are using Version 6.5A. It will be "SA" if you are accessing data from either a very old version of our Sales Analysis or accessing Computer Associate's version. If the latter is true, then you have either accessed the incorrect Start List Item or the V65A Start List item may have been inadvertently deleted.

You should definitely perform a Data Integrity Check on this data though, to see if there are any errors reported. DataCare works best, however, the WSM DIC can be used to check for the most common errors.

Another reason for this error is User/System rights to access this drive & directory. Your system could have restricted network rights which disable access to this area. Check with your Network Administrator to make sure this is not the case.

This message could also indicate hardware related problems. The drive indicated in your message normally would be the Server's hard drive where the data is residing. You should consult your hardware Technician in this case.

Please don't hesitate to create another post on this forum to let us know what you have found out.

Hope this helps.
