Hi,

When I use the =ACCOUNTGROUP formula in Column B I get incorrect results if I use anything but consolidated departments. This is my formula:
=-ADGET("GLDATA.Y",$B7) and in cell B7 I have:
=ACCOUNTGROUP("FS","SOps","Rev","ISC")

I have set up department lists and want to get reporting on these lists using the Accountgroup formula. Is this possible?

I also noticed that the displayed amount when I use a department list is different that than the amount I get if i drill down on the value.

I am obviously using the wrong formula. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello Wendell,

Have you looked at the Help in Financial Reporter? Based on your description, you may need to use:
=ACCOUNTGROUPDEPT(string1[,string2[,...string]])

Instead of:
=ACCOUNTGROUP(string1[,string2[,...string]])

It seems to be that the missing "-`" from each account or range in the account group is where the issue is. Is there a way to overcome this?

Hello Wendell,

Including a place holder is the purpose of the formula.

From the Help file:
ACCOUNTGROUPDEPT() returns the range of accounts with the departmental place holder (`).

That doesn't work. My ACCOUNTGROUP statement references the name of the the group and I have accounts dragged in to that group. Adadio comes up with a list separated by commas.

My work around is to copy the range from the properties of the ACCOUNTGROUP and add -` to every account or range. Very tedious and will need to be maintained if I add any more accounts to the group. There must be a better way.
