Adagio logs activity in a file called SDAPPLOG, which is readable using Notepad.

Here is a small sample when I logged in to Ledger and then opened and exited Edit | Accounts:

GL SYS 20210223 16:48:29:47 Open Data Set Load 9.3B (210115) C:\Softrak\Ledger\
GL SYS 20210223 16:48:32:26 Accounts Menu Open
GL SYS 20210223 16:48:34:60 Edit Accounts UnLoad

They want to see the time as well as the date. They are guessing, and I think they are correct, that 16:48:29:47, etc, is the Greenwich Mean Time (London).

Is that true? Is there a way to change it so the default is a different time zone?

Thanks

Steve

Hey Steve, you can access these records with GV through the adagio common files index. I'm not aware of any settings to deal with the UTC time-stamps but you can create calculated columns to adjust and show your local date/time values if it's necessary.

I can, but have you tried to convert UTC time-stamps to 12-hour time? It's an academic challenge, what with 12PM coming after 11AM and before 1PM.

But can Softrak confirm that the default can't be changed.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

I am not aware of any hidden settings that can change the SDAPPLOG writing of the date and time to use the local time rather than the UTC time.

As Warren alluded to, there is a GridView function called UTC2LOCALSTRING that can convert the UTC date and time to local. It takes care of the area around midnight. One example of the function syntax from the Help file is:

UTC2LOCALSTRING({Date},{Time},"%H:%M:%S:%%Milli") = 10:24:09:620

Hi, Steve,

Look at the Date/Time Functions in the GV help. There's a function designed specifically to convert UTC to the local date and time. From there, you should be able to figure out the client's.

I tend to use the 3rd example the most but you'll use whatever you prefer.
