Hi Forums
Is it possible when exporting my current inventory to an excel spreadsheet that the information be displayed horizontally in columns with a column for each location instead of vertically where it lists the item# on 6 rows? (1 row for each location)

For each item we have 6 locations. Gridview exports our inventory QTY's one row per location w/qty as shown on the attached jpg. I would like to export each item with each location qty as a separate column on the same row.

I would like to export like this without having to reformat in excel later.
ITEM# | Location #A | Location #B | Location #C | Location #D |
12345678 | 82 | 17 | 12 | 00 |
55512343 | 10 | 18 | 20 | 10 |
87555466 | 72 | 19 | 47 | 14 |
95412454 | 12 | 10 | 17 | 12 |

Btw I'm using Gridview 9.3B and pulling the information from Inventory 9.2A
Table I/C Item Locations.

Thank you in advance.

Hi:

You will need to do the following
-Make certain the report is sorted by Item code (likely the case already)
-Create 6 Calculated Columns (one for each Location) using IF() formula
-Make certain that those 6 columns have totals at the bottom
-Use the "Summarize" button so that each item rolls up to just one row

If you have trouble with the IF() clause, let us know.

I think I have accomplished what you have asked except for the totals at bottom.
Please see attached jpg.

TIA

Hi AGatewood,

If you right-click on a column header of a numeric field, the pop-up menu will have choices for Display Total, Display Minimum, etc near the bottom. To add totals, select the Display Total option.

The View Definition should have the option for 'Totals for numeric columns' enabled.

Worked like a charm.
Thank you very much.

Now if I wanted to add the Item description from a separate table? Is this also possible?
