We are having an issue with slow login times regardless of module and/or database. The user in question had their Adagio programs moved to a "virtual server" (all mappings etc stayed the same). The data was moved some time ago without issue.

The issue now is very slow log ins. Specifically 3 1/2 minutes to actually make the connection. Once logged in no issues working with the data only logging on.

Opportunistic locking is enabled and we have doubled checked the system.ini file to make sure pointing to the correct path.

Any suggestions?

John:

Make sure that your antivirus isn't aggressively checking Adagio. You must set your AV to exclude checking the Softrak or data folders.

Scott/John:

I agree with Doug completely. Two weeks ago a client reported similar load time issues. When I asked when the performance problem started, it became apparent that it coincided with the installation of new A-V software. As soon as the software was uninstalled, performance returned to normal.

Antivirus would be my first guess. If that isn't the cause, then you should look at the search paths to see if some offline UNC is being referenced which would be resulting in a time out for every EXE and DLL load on startup.

Hi John,

We use a virtual server for our Adagio Applications and login is not slow.
As a test, create a new desktop icon to access the application and see if that helps.
