Is it possible to have a word wrap when entering comment lines under text block in Order Entry? We often have a paragraph to write and it is annoying to have to watch the screen to see when the line is full

Sorry, no word wrap in OE comment lines. If you are using Text Blocks to predefine the paragraph then you just have to be careful about how you set it up. Once set up then you don't have to worry about it again.

Why do you need to add a paragraph's to your OE documents? Maybe there is another way to manage this?

Hi Doug, We are adding information to the invoice describing in detail the work done in modifying a vehicle.

I'm not sure what you mean by Text Blocks to predefine the paragraph. Were typing a comment line, its easier to read what has been typed in the text block window. I can't think of another way to enter this info on to an invoice. Note: each comment is complete unique to the work performed for each invoice.

Hi doug p,

Text Blocks are a collection of 10 Comment or Instruction lines, that can either be pre-defined for selection, or for entering unique text. When entering a detail on an order, a Text Block line type is available to choose, in addition to Comment or Instruction. It sounds like in your case, the latter choice is the preferable case.

Word wrapping does not occur when entering Text Blocks, as the data structure is still 10 Comment (or Instruction) lines, even though it appears as one large box. After 75 characters are typed, you still have to press the Enter key to get to the next line.

In order to accommodate word wrapping in OE Comments, significant changes to the data structure and specification designer would need to be done. Currently only Adagio Time&Billing supports word wrapping in text descriptions.

Rather than using Order Entry as a work order solution you should consider JobTracker for Adagio. JobTracker is a work order solution and has an appropriate note function with word wrap.

A work order(job) can be created to configure a vehicle that is unique for each client. This can include a full description of everything included on the vehicle and or a complete list of each item added to it in the process. Parts can be included from inventory or miscellaneous items. Serialized tracking is supported when required. If labour is an important cost to you when assembling a vehicle, JobTracker provides for tracking labour costs incurred in the process.

If there is any retail element to you business, CounterSales can offer invoicing of jobs when they are complete plus efficient processing of any off the shelf items sold to a walk in client and paid using any accepted payment type. If there is no retail component, JobTracker provides a simple billing component for the job. Otherwise, the job can be manufactured to an inventory item and sold through any invoicing application that works with Adagio Inventory; Adagio Order Entry, Adagio Invoices or CounterSales.
