Good morning! One of our account numbers was incorrectly set up as a balance sheet account type and should be an income statement account. it only has activity in 2012. i tried to use the toolkit to transfer the activity to a new account (income statement) but it won't let me. how do I fix this mess?

If 2012 is still the current year, you can unpost all batches that contain activity posted to that account, change the account type and then repost.

This may sound like a daunting task if there are lots of batches, but I've done it where there were 100 batches to unpost and it is tedious but not too terrible.

If 2012 had already been closed, you have no good alternatives. You can restore from a backup pre-close, and follow the steps above, and then merge the 2013 activity into the restored backup. For that, I would suggest you use me (note to the rest of the world - Lisa is my client).
