The default file format is “word” and the system fails to write the word file.

Changing the output file format to “excel” makes everything work properly.

There are therefore 2 issues:

1-Why is the word output to file failing,

2-How can we change the dialog so that something other than Word comes up as the default.

The answer to your second question is that the default export format can be set in the User Preferences and the Reports tab. You can set the format and folder location here.

The first answer is more difficult, as it relies on the Crystal DLL that does the export to Word, and Adagio has no control over that process. If other workstations do not have the same export to Word problem, maybe the issue is just that your workstation does not have access to a good file, and you could try re-running the workstation setup. If other workstations have the same problem, there is something else going on that we could only guess at since I cannot replicate the problem.

Why are you printing your batches to Word?

If you want an electronic copy, print them to the AdagioPDF printer. If you want them automatically named and filed, without operator intervention, then invest in ePrint.

I am not too sure why they are exporting to Word but that is what they want and the option is there so, I am not too sure I understand your answer asking why export to Word.

However, I agree that since only this workstation has the problem it must be a local problem and thank you for the dll info - I can follow up on that.

Also, thank you for where to set the settings - even though the information is readily available somewhere I guess we just did not look there so, again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi John,

None of us here can think of any reason to print a batch listing to Word. You should ask the user "why?" and then provide a solution. Often a circumstance such as this is the only opportunity you have to question a business process.
