Good day to you all,

We are finding that all of our Adagio modules across all of our companies are slowing down.

To that end we have performed numerous tests on the server where the software and data are hosted and these all come back a-ok. Other software running on that server is not experiencing the same problems.

I therefore took a copy of all the tables (for all the companies we work with) and placed them on my local drive and tried to open them.

I found the exact same behavior locally as I do when going through the network.

The problem seems to exemplify itself at first when simply typing the user id of the sys account - the keyboard delay is indicative that something is going a miss somewhere. For instance one cannot type "SYS" but rather must type "S", wait a bit, "Y", wait a bit and then "S"...

Actually most of the reported problems from various users who give me more than "it is slow" indicate that the problems seem to be centered around a keyboard delay...

The only hunch I have is the lanpac as even with the data loaded locally, the software is installed up on the server and I guess all traffic for all modules goes through ADS..

Would anyone have an idea of where I should look or suggestions as to how to locate this bottle neck?

Thanks in advance and,

Cheers, JK

Are the applications fast once they are open? Were you running the applications from a local copy, or off your network? Have you recently changed your network servers or drive mappings?

I believe it's most likely your anti-virus software. Try removing it (not disabling it, actually removing it) and see if that does the trick. Of course, I'm not recommending going naked, just for testing purposes.

Good day gentlemen,

Thank you for answering my post.

We see a real speed improvement when turning the anti virus off.

We are following up on that side.

Again, thank you and,

Cheers, JK
