I am trying to print a customer list(address & phone #). I am only able to get addresses. When I try to include "contacts" or try to print preview "contacts" only, the program hangs up. The only escape is to ctrl-alt-delete. I haven't tried printing or previewing this report since Jan/10 and am assuming the last upgrade had a change that affected this report. Please advise.

Hello Jackie,

This report is working fine for me. Have you tried printing it in the sample data?

Hi Andrew,
I have accessed the program again. It appears that there was a glitch in our network which explains why I kept getting hung up.
As for the Customer List and Stats Report, the only way to get the report that we need is to designate "addresses only" and "profile". This will give me addresses, contact & phone/fax/email #'s. In previous versions I could print "addresses only" and get this information in about 40 pages (based on our data). Now the report is 151 pages! We need to have a hard copy. Can this be streamlined to its former self?
Many thanks,
Jackie

I'm not understanding the information you are looking for. Are you looking for a simple address and contact name and phone number for your clients? Perhaps you can list the fields you want to see.

Personally, I think that the easiest way to get the information you want is to select the fields you want on the Grid and dump the information into Excel.

If one row per client is not a useful layout, then do a mailmerge to a Word document and place the fields on the paper the way you would like to see them. That's probably easier than trying to create a custom report in Crystal Reports for Adagio (although that would be an alternative).

Hi Andrew

I understand exactly what Jackie is looking for - this is the third time I have heard the same complaint.

The problem is that running the same report out of ACCPAC Plus with the "Address Only" option produced a report that included the phone and fax numbers, but the Adagio equivalent does not include those fields. In order to get the phone and fax fields, you end up with a report that is triple the length (and includes many other "extraneous" fields).

I have had to modify the standard report to make them happy. I can understand why Softrak chose not to include the phone and fax in the "Address Only" version, but unfortunately at least three former ACCPAC Plus users are upset about the omission.

It's not an "omission". Accpac Plus did not have fields for e-mail addresses and web sites. Fortunately, you are able to customize this report for them in a few minutes with Crystal Reports for Adagio and replace the standard one we supply. We will never be able to satisfy the information requirements for everyone.

Yes, I mentioned that I modify the standard report.

I'm not talking about email address and website fields; I'm talking about phone and fax numbers - those were on the ACCPAC "Address Only" report and it would have been nice to have them on the Adagio version just to satisfy migrating ACCPAC users. Adagio is generally so good at doing that.

Steve, you are exactly right. Up until this year we were able to print the report in the ACCPAC "Address Only" format. Not sure what changed for 2010-2011 but it would be helpful to have it back. We are a small company and do run into numerous power outages or are unable to access the computer. The ability to access a hard copy that is not a long and cumbersome report would suit us greatly. I do not print the report often, usually at the beginning of the year so I am willing to try an alternate method of getting this report. We do have Gridview and I will make do from there.

Thanks,
Jackie

I should point out that there are multiple ways to get a quick customer list from Adagio. All columns configurable. GridView, the ExcelDirect button under customer maintenance and any customer field (via SmartFinder).

Hi Jackie

What changed is that Softrak revised the "Address Only" version of the report when they released version 9.0A, taking out the phone numbers. I checked and they were there in version 8.1A.

Softrak knows not to take away anything from older versions and they broke their own rule! Someone is bound to notice and be unhappy.

If you want, email me at steve@sschwartzcpa.com and I will send you the report I have modified. It will work as long as you are using Receivables version 9.0B.

Steve
