The income statement for all our companies has an F after ADGET in the current month column. I've tried to change it but I have not been able to get my change accepted.

Is this something to do with the new ledger update, since I believe the financials worked in our last fiscal period?

Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

When dealing with amounts (balances and net changes), there is no difference in the value returned by ADGET() and ADGETF(). However, when returning the DESCRIPTION of an account range (4000:4999) ADGET() returns the description of the last account in the range and ADGETF() returns the description of the first account in the range.

Financial statement created with new versions of the Financial Reporter tend to use GLDESC() and GLAMT() to get their values from the ledger, ans these formulas are syntactically simpler.

If the number are not what you expect, then something else is going on. Did you check the fiscal period on the toolbar? If the fiscal period is correct, do you need to press F9 to recalculate the sheet?

Also make sure that when you make changes to your financial spec, you do so when the form is Collapsed. If you edit formulas when the spec is Expanded, changes made to 'generated rows' will be deleted the next time you refresh the form, as generated rows are deleted and re-generated on a refresh.

The ADGET is actually on a range of numbers and the 'F' seems to be picking up only the first value in the range of numbers, instead of the sum of the entire range.

We are running 9.0C, but our financials are saved through ALWIN, not through ledger. Would that be a problem?

The 'ALWIN' folder is version 8.1A of Adagio Ledger. If indeed you have version 9.0C from the \softrak\ledger directory installed, you should not be using both this program and the one in \softrak\alwin. In fact, the data is not compatible between 8.1A and 9.0C, so you might not even be running the current version. You'll need to determine what version of Ledger you are actually using.

The 'F' means that the first account is read in the case where a range of accounts is used. This happens for amounts as well as descriptions. If only one account is in the formula key, using ADGET or ADGETF doesn't matter.

If I copy the financial statements from ALWIN and paste them under LEDGER, would they then be compatible?
