POA 8.1A 091029 returns the error - Access violation at address 0042C37C in module IR.exe - whenever a system variable field is added to the extended PO spec. i.e. we want to add something like "Page 1 of 1" to the PO form.
Updated with the latest System Updater (Jan 05 2010) - error happened before updating as well - thought this might fix it.
Windows Server 2008 envirnonment with Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro workstations. Tried it on both desktop o/s - same error.
Is there a workaround or fix?

Hi, Ed,

The error you are receiving isn't related to your adding a system variable to a spec, it occurs each time you File | Close or 'x' out of the specification.

I've reported this to R&D for you.

As you may know, the spec editor within PO is different than the one used in other Adagio modules. We are working to make the program more Adagio-like; however, this will take time.

In the meantime, I recommend you use File | Save whenever you've made any changes to a spec. After, you can either File | Close or 'x' out of the spec and, when prompted to save your changes again, say 'No'. This way, you won't receive that access violation error.
