ledger finanancial reporter locking out users?

System has all supplied updates applied. Lanpak/5, ledger, ap, ar and invoices. Yesterday when one user was in the ledger financial reporter any other users could not access adagio at all. The error message did not indicate record locking, but rather something about incorrect procedure. Unfortunately I was not onsite and did not see the actual message, but handled the issue over the phone. We eventually figured out someone had the financial open and once they closed them the users again had access. Is this something to do with the new lanpak?

Hi David,
I tried this out in our office. Opened up financial reporter from within the ledger, loaded a balance sheet spec, and tried signing in to the same data set from a different computer and using a different user name. I was able to login without a problem to AP, AR and GL.
Was this a "one off" situation for your client, or has it happened again?
I might suggest cutting out the ezsemtab.xxx file from their data if it happens again - it could have become corrupted. The file will be recreated as soon as someone logs back into Adagio and this will reset all the program locks.

Yes it was a "one of a kind" Have not heard any porblems lately but now I think they are gun shy about the financials. I will do some more testing. Thanks for the ezsemtab tip/

I just experienced the same problem as David. I am in financial reporter and tried to open the payables module and got the following error: Version Compatability: Your current version of Adagio Payables is not compatible with the version of Adagio Ledger database you are currently using. Complete compatibility information can be found at http://www.softrak.com/appcomp.phpSo then I asked my coworker to attempt to sign in and she got the same error. This is not a "one-off" error. We have replicated this error several times over the morning. Is there a "fix" that Adagio can provide? It is not feasible to have other users locked out of the program while one person is printing or programming a financial statement.

All the Adagio modules we have installed are 8.1A. This not only happened with Payables, but also with Invoices, Job Cost and Receivables. Is there an ETA on the Service Packs?

That's very unfortunate for me, but not for you, I guess! We have enough technically savvy personnel in this office that we can download and install our own Service Packs, yet instead you are telling me that I have to contact AND PAY our partner/dealer to install this for me. I'm disappointed with this, and I feel this practice is unfair to the end user. We already pay annual update fees to ensure that we have the latest and greatest versions of the software, but once again we have to open our chequebooks in order to eliminate a "bug" that you've already discovered but are refusing to release without further compensation, and have given me no indication as to when it will be released as a service pack, if ever. This ?fix? should be offered to the end-user as soon as possible. We are already out-of-pocket due to this error by having staff get locked out and disrupting their work. We shouldn?t also be penalized monetarily to repair your error. On top of that, we will also have to wait for the partner/dealer to have time in their schedule to install the fix, so once again, we are losing money. It is understandable that all software packages and upgrades will have issues, but it is incomprehensible that you are instructing me to pay to have the bugs worked out of your program. We have paid for the program, we pay annually for updates, how much more do we have pay to use your program without it costing us time and money every time we login?
