Hallo,

Please tell me what the "Net Taxes Field" in the Sales Analysis Statistics represents. I'm comparing this to the taxes generated on the OE Tax tracking and Tax summary reports, but those totals do not match for the same period.

PS.
The Tax Tracking/Summ. reports do not have any totals other than for the month of May.

This client was converted from Accpac to Adagio on May 24th. They were previously using the Softrak Sales Analysis w/Accpac.

Hi PwC,

OE tax tracking/summary reports can be printed and purged. Could this have happened? This would explain why the numbers don't match SalesAnalysis.

You can also Clear Statistics from Adagio SalesAnalysis for a particular date range, either by running Clear Statistics function or by Archiving data. Either way allows defining a date range to clear statistics. Have either of these processes been performed in SalesAnalysis?

Adagio SalesAnalysis uses the same data structure for the Statistics file as compared to the original DOS version. So converting to Adagio should not have changed this.

You may want to run the Rebuild Statistics function in SalesAnalysis - but if you do, make sure to backup the data prior to doing this.

I'm going to say definitely the OE TxTrckng was not printed and purged.
OE Sales Tax MTD = $89,331.39
SA Net Sales Tax = $62,684.40

With regard to what may have occurred in SA I am not confident that in moving around in SA the client may have selected the option to clear Stats, but I tend to think not. If the Stats had somehow been cleared, then the SA MTD sales figure would have been affected, but as it stands the sales $$ MTD in SA matches that figure on the OE tax tracking report dollar for dollar/cents for cents.

The only other thought I have right now is to make sure that in SalesAnalysis, the option to retrieve taxes is still enabled. This can be found in the SA company profile. You can choose to turn off retrieving either or both Taxes and Misc Charges. This would influence the SA statistics.

If it was disabled by mistake, you may be able to fix this by turning it on, archiving all transactions for invoices and CNs still in OE current and history (by date range), and then running Scan Data from Other Systems to bring back the invoices/CNs with the taxes.

Neither the option to import "Tax details" or "Misc charges" had been selected in the SA profile.

I've completed the above suggestion, but unfortunately, this did not resolve the situation. Reviewing the manual on tax switch in the CO profiile, had indicated it's used only to bring across tax details on an invoice, and should be left disabled unless needed as it will slow down system inquiries after a while....That's why it was not enabled on the clients system.

Since taxes in OE are being calculated only on items sold, then I didn't believe Misc charges (if any) would affect our sales stats. Please correct me if that's not the case.

I took a copy of the client's data for this current month and with the options enabled on my system, I imported the OE data into my SA. Still seeing the same behaviour....

MTD = up to June 07
OE Net Taxes = $12,810.33
SA Net Taxes = $3,896.10

Please Advised!

We have determined the discrepant totals were caused, by the "taxes" switch not being turned on in the SA company profile.
