Hi Ron,

You can use Quik Reports to create a report that only selects values for specific departments, not necessarily consecutive. The syntax would be something like:

Department in ["100","200","450"]

where each department is defined with quotes around them and separated by commas. You may have to include leading spaces for departments less than 6 characters (ie " 100" with 3 leading spaces).

Whether you will be able to get an appropriate looking Income Statement using Quik Reports is entirely a different question. If you can devise a format that looks reasonable, then the selection formula above will be able to help.

You may also want to use Adagio Ledger, which is side-by-side compatible with Accpac Plus GL6.1A, meaning it can work with GL6.1A at the same time without converting the data. The Financial Reporter that comes with Adagio Ledger is able to do departmental statements using ranges of departments, both consecutive and not. Because it uses a Windows spreadsheet-style format, it is much more intuitive to use than the DOS GL specification designer in Plus GL.

Regards,

Hello Ron,

I'll just emphasize Warren's posting here that Quik Reports (based on Crystal Report 4.0) or Adagio Reports (based on Crystal Reports 8.5) are probably not the right tool for creating Financial Statements (a bit like trying to chop down a tree with a hammer - it's doable but not much fin ). If you are not using multi-currency, then check out Adagio Ledger - its Financial Reporter is capable of creating almost any statement you can visualize. If you have turned on multi-currency, then Quik Link is the way to go.
