Dear Debbie

You did not say whether or not you are using DataCare to find these errors in OE - ?

If you would like to see exactly what type of information or "errors" are being found in these fields, you could use Quik Reports or QRWIN to do up a report using the fields being flagged as errors in your report to try to determine what may be happening.

Data corruption can be caused by a number of things, but most frequently power failure at a crucial point in processing (ie posting), system instability (frequent crashing) or faulty hardware is the source.

If you are using ACCPAC on a network environment, where the programs and data are located on a Server drive, and you run the programs from individual systems (workstations), a defective network card and/or cabling could cause consistent data corruption.

It would be wise to do some troubleshooting to try to find the actual cause, using the above possibilities as a guide. One thing to try in the process of elimination is to make a copy of your data (after having it "fixed") and put it on a reliable workstations' local hard drive. Get the user of this workstation to mimic what is being entered on the network, then at the end of the day, use DataCare to do a single entry check on the local data, to see if it stays stable. Do the same check on the network data to compare them.

If you need to start "fresh" with a good set of data, we have a Database Repair Service here that can provide you with a quotation. Our DBR's do not rely on products such as "Fix-It", but are done manually.

You can contact our DBR dept by email: datarepair@softrak.com , or by phone: (604) 736-3741.

Hope this helps.

PS If you have future questions that are not related to any of our products, you can post your concerns on the Plus Community Forum:
www.pluscommunity.com. PlusCommunity deals strictly with ACCPAC Plus, ACCPAC for Windows and related 3rd Party applications and Add-ons.

Hope this helps!
