On smartsheet financial reports, right clicking on column B header and de-selecting the option to "hide when printed" doesn't seem to work, as the column still does not print. It does'nt show in the print preview and it also won't export the column to excel, so printing from there is not an option.

If i delete the A1 cell ".smartsheet" text, then the column displays.
It will also display if i insert a column in front of it - so it seems like it's just column B and only on smartsheets.

I've replicated this with a few different reports on a couple of different datasets.

Thanks,

On any .SmartSheet statement Columns A and B are automatically hidden when the statement is printed.

This is by design.

Ryan,

Softrak Tech Support may correct me on this, but I think that designating the sheet as a SmartSheet requires that it assume control of how columns A and B are used.

If you are trying to display the acct/dept for your detail lines, you could simply choose that as one of the column options when "dragging" into the spreadsheet or use a formula like this:
TRIM(ADGETF("GLDATA.ACCTDEPT",$B8))
(changing the Cell reference, of course).

Hi Ryan,

In cell B1, right-click in the cell and choose 'Make .ShowAccounts'. Or simply type .ShowAccounts in cell B1. This allows column B to be unhidden when printing or exporting financial statements with the SmartSheet property.

If you prefer the accounts (and departments if desired) to print with a different format that what is presented in Column B, simply insert a new column C (between Column B and the account description column) and follow Ralph's suggestion above.

Indeed otherwise, columns A and B are always hidden. There are no properties to unhide column A of a SmartSheet, nor would you want to do this.
