We are trying to formulate a report on QR 6.5 based on IC 6.1B and Movement Reporter 6.5.
This report is to print all the movement in stock in columner form (done with formulas based on transaction type in MR)
based on the Items available at a specific location. The issue is that immediately after picking up MR data the ICILOC.R file drops the
references obtained from ICITEM.R. (ie. Item Description and Weight fields).

The Columns in the report are;
Location Code, Item Code, Qty on Hand (from ICILOC.R)
Item Description, Unit Weight (from ICITEM.R)
Transaction Date, Transaction Type, Quantity (from MRHIST.R)

Selection : for a given Location Code
Range : For a given Date range based on MR-Transaction Date.

Any hints to overcome this would be much appreciated.

Hi Devon,

My first thought is that the default links for the report are getting changed when fields from MRHIST are being inserted. As I'm not familiar with this add-on, I don't know how its data is related to IC, and therefore the appropriate IC file(s) it should link to in the report.

If the purpose of your report is to list transaction history records from Movement Reporter, and also print associated information from the IC files, then MRHIST should be the driving file (from Edit Links). I would imagine you would link from MRHIST to ICILOC by Item number. You probably could then link from either MRHIST or ICILOC to ICITEM by Item number, but I don't know which would be better or more efficient. Give both links a try. Lastly, the Link Mode would probably be One-to-One. Should that not give all the information you need, you may have to try One-to-Many, which will slow the report printing down, but that may be necessary due to how the information is handled.

Until you are sure the links are correct, I would suggest not using any selection formula or range. Print the report to screen (from F3, set the printer location to screen, rather than printer) and determine if all of the columns are printing as you need them to. When that is complete, then add back your location and date ranges as required.

You may also want to try recreating a simple version of the report by inserting the fields from MRHIST and previewing, then adding a specific field from either ICITEM or ICILOC and try again. This is just to test links.

Lastly, because Movement Reporter is a 3rd Party add-on, if you have had to reinstall Quik Reports for any reason (ie upgrade, reinstalled IC, etc), then you will be required to simply reinstall Movement Reporter to reset the files that contain linking information.

Hope this helps.
