On using Adagio AR 8.0B (061216) on some Plus AR 6.5A MC data for the first time, Adagio wanted to upgrade the data. I immediately checked the ReadMe file for any relevant info regarding ACCPAC Plus compatibility. To my mind nothing indicated that the two systems could not co-exist (BTW - no JC involved) so I went ahead and upgraded.

DICs for both systems show no errors but the Transaction display in the Plus Inquiries window no longer works properly - Only one line shows in the Transaction display area.

Though one can scroll to see other transactions, only one line ever displays at a time. Customer Balances seem to be OK even though some transactions do not display at all.

Adagio appears to shows all transactions OK but client really wants their Plus system to continue working properly as well.

Any chance of correcting this ? Quickly

Hello Peter,

In order to support posting to the job, phase and category in Adagio V8.0B, we moved some data around in the empty (unused) ACCPAC space at the end of the accounts receivable transaction record. This should have had no effect on ACCPAC Plus Account Receivable, but it has affected the display only in that one module (probably due to some shortcut an ACCPAC programmer took many years ago in writing that one function).

The data is fine. The Adagio customer inquiry has way more functionality in any event.

Sorry, there's nothing we can do. We may be able to push the data back to its original state - send it to Michael before committing. You'd need to make sure that Adagio Receivables was removed from their system to make sure it wasn't "converted" back.

As I have told you before (and I'm sure Peter will agree with me), you should add a warning prior to the conversion which appears if the system sees an ARASP folder. This is no different than what you did with the latest Adagio Invoices upgrade.

Perhaps we should just rename the ARASP folder on installation? There is already a warning prior to the conversion.

I have advised the client to continue and not use Plus for Transaction Display. Adagio's way better at this anyway.

With regards to compatibility warnings etc., I have a few comments as an SBP - I'll post them on the SBP Forum.

The current warning only mentions incompatibility with prior versions of Adagio Receivables, which by definition is not a problem for ACCPAC Plus users. It needs to say that you will not be able to view current customer transactions in ACCPAC Plus AR following the conversion.

Renaming the ARASP folder is not a warning at all. It is an admission that Adagio Receivables is not compatible at all with ACCPAC Plus AR. That's overkill. For now, compatibility is Adagio's best selling point.

You'll see this in the next service pack or upgrade for Receivables. Unfortunately, it's all that we can do at the moment.
