There is a workaround. Basically in an OE template (Maintenance | Define OE Entry Template) and within Group Security (File | Group Setup), make sure that on the Customer tab if you have Salesperson, Enter on New, you have also clicked on the Finder field and specified a particular salesperson. This will prevent a Salesperson field from being left 'blank' as it is a required field in OE.
