I was trying to add into our monthly Income Statements a column which would show last year budget (not year to date, just a budget for the entire last year). To my surprise I couldn't find the corresponding symbol in Account Data list.
Could you help? Thanks.

.B is the Full Year Budget should be the first one in "Change In Budget During Total"

...although that would be the budget for the current year. Neither Adagio Ledger nor Adagio FX save your last year's budget.

If necessary, you could export the budget from your backup of last year's data to an Excel spreadsheet, change the account-department slightly, then import the budget figures into your current dataset. Some fancy formulas would be needed to get at the numbers, but it would be doable.

Hi Elena

Adagio FX will work if:

1) You keep a copy of last year's GL
2) You have maintained the same chart of account structure for this year and last year
3) You use department codes that are fewer than six characters

I don't want to go into further details without knowing more about your company's chart of account structure. If you are interested in more details, let me know, and I'll ask the appropriate questions.

Hi Steve.
I use Adagio G/L, not FX (I am not sure what's the difference).
I also added few new accounts at the beginning of this fiscal year (September).
But I keep copy of last year GL and we don't have any departments. Would it work? What Andrew is proposing is cumbersome as a task. I wouldn't mind to find a simpler way.
Thanks.

Hi Elena

Adagio FX would work for you. Adding a few new accounts is not big deal.

Adagio FX reads Adagio GL data into its own database, and has the same exact functions and reports as GL, except you can't modify the data (ie no adding accounts or entering batches). It looks just like Adagio GL, so there is no learning curve.

Importantly for you, Adagio FX can read two or more sets of Adagio GL data into one database, assigning a dept code to one set (eg dept 2005) and another dept code to the second set (eg dept 2006). Then you can run normal financial statements using the two sets of data at the same time.

If you want, download a demo version of Adagio FX and take a look at it, or sign up for a webinar - there is one on Adagio FX tomorrow - see http://www.softrak.com/webinars/index.php. I'll bet Softrak would waive any fee if you ask.
