We just installed your software with the impression that we can continue using our ACCPAC Plus. But the ledger program downgraded the ACCPAC Data. If we want to access it using the ACCPAC Plus General Ledger it gives us a message that the data needs to be converted. If we do so then Adagio Ledger does the same.

Also, should it take over 2 minutes for the programs to load? All modules take over 2 minutes to load.

Hello Mauricio,

If you want to run Adagio Ledger and ACCPAC Plus General Ledger at the same time, then you'll need to re-install your V6.5 ACCPAC Plus General Ledger programs. You can confirm compatibility of Adagio modules with ACCPAC Plus by refering to this page off our web site.

Two minutes sounds like too long to me. What speed is your network? What anti-virus system are you using? How much RAM is installed in your workstations? If you install the programs on your local drive "C", how long do they take to launch?

OK, I will install the previous version of GL to get it working.

100mb network
McAffee
1gig RAM

I have one station with the programs installed locally and it loads in about 10sec.

Sounds like either your network is not really running at 100Mbits (perhaps an old router or hub at 10MBits?) or the virus checker has not been disabled for the Adagio data directory and is virus checking each file as it is opened by the program launching.

Here's what windows reports for my connections from the server and the client.

Also, as you can see I have excluded the folder where the plus/softrak applications and data reside.

After disabling antivirus on the local station then the programs ran fine.

Thanks for the help.

After installing the old 6.5 ACCPAC GL the data has got corruption. Now I have gone back to a backup and converted the data again using Adagio with 6.5 installed and the data is still corrupted. When I check transactions there are none there. I run data integrity check in adagio and I receive an error that the "Posted transaction file out of order". I click rebuild and when "Rewriting sorted post transaction file 1 of 8850" I get a "Error Floating point overflow occurred when attempting to append record to G/L posted transactions". Click ok error continues to come up. Need help we need to get the GL Listings to the bank for period 10 month end.

Maurico,

From your October 30th message, it appears that the data was okay in Adagio after you solved the problem with the AV software.

It was then corrupted when you opened it with ACCPAC Plus 6.5.

If you restore from your good backup and only open the data with Adagio Ledger, is it okay?

If so, the problem may be that one or more of the ACCPAC Plus diskettes is corrupted. After all, they are about 10 years old!

If this is the case, can you not just use Adagio Ledger and avoid opening the data with ACCPAC Plus?

Turns out that no, the data gets corrupted after opening with Adagio Ledger. After replacing with my back up I get the problem described. I have now gone back to ACCPAC GL 7.0 and am working with my backup without a problem. We are manually reconstructing the missing transactions which are the transactions since the Adagio Ledger was installed. But I have multiple companies setup and have the problem with the other one. Wondering if any way that the data can be repaired so that we do not have to go thru manually creating the transactions.

I have deduced that Adagio Ledger changed something in the subledger programs that when I retrieved the GL transactions into a company which had not been converted, the transactions in the ??GLBTCH.DAT files were of the wrong format. The ACCPAC GL did not report problems but the transactions were posted. We could not print posting journals and the transactions did not show up in inquiries. That is what prompted me to run the integrity check.
