I cannot make the Posting Date recognized in the Ledger.
I posted an AR Invoice in Sample Company dated May 5, 2008 with an Accounting Date April 5, 2008.
When I retrieved the AR batch, Ledger wants to post the transaction to May and not April.
Ledger is using the Document Date, as it usually does.

If this is how it is working, then what is the Accounting Date meant to do?
Am I doing something incorrect?
How can I have the Ledger automatically assign the transaction to the Period based on the Accounting Date?

Okay,I got it.
On the Retrieve in Ledger, I have to change the option to "Subledger period" in the lower section of the Retrieve window.
If we change this value once, will Adagio "remember" this setting for future postings & retrievals?

Yes it will remember the setting. Unless I'm mistaken, only "Specific period" is a one-time setting.

I think it always remembers the last setting even for the Specific Period which is dangerous. I would like this changed not to remember the Specific Period.

Another question regarding the Accounting Date:

Can the Accounting Date field be retrieved into the Sales Analysis module?

Hello Sam,

No, SalesAnalysis doesn't know anything about the Accounting Date.

I am working with a client that is using Invoices, Sales Analysis and many other modules.
They are making use of the Accounting Date, which often is the previous month compared to the Invoice Date.

Would it be possible to create an Optional Date field in S/A & drop the Accounting Date from the Invoices module into this S/A Optional field?

Hello Sam,

If the same optional date field is defined in Invoices and SalesAnalysis, you will be able to set it on the SA Opt. Fields tab, in Send to SalesAnalysis Header Optional Fields.
