I tried to import a csv file and got the message:
" is not a valid integer value.

I then added one GL account than exported in to csv and tried to import it and got the same message. Also tried importing excel and didn't work. This is a standalone PC that I just installed Ledger on. Any suggestions?

Does the import layout match the export layout? Check the 'Include header row'. Were you importing an integer?

Account and department codes need to be text not numbers

Hello Wendell,

Does Sample data work? There are sample imports for each default template.

Wendell,

I would open the import file in notepad to see if the formatting issue is obvious. Excel could be showing values differently than what's in the actual cell.

If the numbers have formatting such as commas, it will mess up location of the fields.

Thank you all for the good pointers. I ended up taking the data to my laptop and re exporting the account to CSV and then importing that file. This time it worked! Not sure what the issue was but seems good now.
