Dear All,

I modified "Check Specification Option" to uses Paper Size = Custom; Length=7.00 inch; Width = 8.50 inch.

All was working great ((2009 - 2022) 14 years)) ** Printer (Epson died) so we changed.

After printer change PROBLEM PRINTING.

I can "Preview Dummy Form" on screen and print from (within the preview screen) but when I try to print "Dummy Check Form" specification to the printer only the first 2-3 Lines print. -new printer- Epson FX-2190 II ESC/P. Thus AP does the same when I try to print a REAL Check.

I created a "Custom" paper size in the printer preferences 8.50" Wide x 7.00" Length.
Same thing happens.

My work around is to print to PDF (PDF995 Software) then print the PDF Document to the same printer and all works fine. Because of the sensitive nature of CHEQUE PRINTING i do not want to "Regularize" this work around.

Any help welcomed.
Why does ADAGIO AP only print the first 2-3 inches?

Regards
Edward

Hi Edward,
First of all, you cannot test aligning check specs with printing a check spec from the forms designer. You have to align within a test manual check in live data, and void out the check until you get it right (assuming you are using a laser printer).

And secondly, you really don't want to be using dot matrix print drivers (new drivers) to print checks from Adagio Payables without gambling on a potential lot of time to get the spec to print properly. You would better to just go and buy a laser desktop printer (and give to client) to do the printing instead of trying to find a way to make the dot matrix forms work. And you can perf the continuous forms to single pages and feed into the manual paper laser feed tray to make work or conveniently spill a coffee into the box of check forms, and reorder new laser check forms. Both options work well.

Seriously, this is a migraine waiting to happen. And I wouldn't go there for love or money.

Best,
Brian
