Folks at Softrak,

We are on the verge of joining the Adagio community, and I have a question on importing. We have a rather large product list, of which only about 25% exist in database. Does OE support an importing specification?

Thank you,

Hi JSFoster,

Yes, Adagio OrderEntry supports importing orders, either with 6 pre-defined file layouts or with a structure that you create yourself. CSV and Excel formats are the best way.

If you do not plan to also use Adagio Inventory, you may also import the items and alternate price list items into Adagio OrderEntry as well. Adagio Inventory can do this importing too, and would be pretty much necessary if you have a warehouse with stock items - the items list in a 'standalone' OrderEntry database is less sophisticated.

If you haven't yet seen an evaluation copy of Adagio, you can download any of our current releases from here. Evaluation versions are limited in some ways, one of which is that importing is disabled - but at least you can see how it would work and what is avaiable (you just can't click the 'OK' button to start importing...)

Hope this helps out and welcome to the community!
