I added a line item in the financial reporter, saved the as new template. Now when I print the monthly report from the GL, the report does not pick-up the new line. How do I point the monthly statement in the GL to the new template.

If you "Saved as Template", then you are saving the statement in a specific Folder so that it can be opened in multiple companies. If you want to save it for use with th one company you are working on, but giving it different name so that you don't overwrite the old statement, then just use the "Save as..." menu choice.

Also, you'll have to edit the Statement Group to read the newly changed statement, rather than the old one.
