One of the workstations get the following error:

PrintClient has stopped working. If you close the program, a message: system error: Code 1722. The RPC server is unavailable comes up. If you close that, a message comes up: Access violation at address 00D16145 in module :"invoices.exe" Read of address 00000000

Assume this is a rights issue?

Scott:

-Is this a form or a Crystal report?
-Does the same error occur for all the form/reports in Invoices?
-What about other Adagio modules on this computer - do they have the same error?
-What happens if you Preview the form/report?
-What happens if you Print the form/report to the PDF driver?
-Is this a new workstation?
-If it's an existing workstation, what changed?
-Did you recently install Payables 9.3B?

If the problem is only with Crystal reports, have you tried to re-install Crystal from the System folder?

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the response. Will answer your questions as follows:

-Form, Crystal Report, internal canned reports nothing prints even to preview.
-same answer as above
-yes she can not print from any module
-as stated preview or to printer nothing same error
-haven't tried the printing to the PDF driver yet - will give that a shot
-not a new workstation
-will answer below
-they are running V9.3A (with whatever the latest service pack for that version is)
-no haven't re-installed Crystal yet still trying to get filled in on all details

What I did find out is she remotes in to the server (I was not aware of this) and no this is not RDP. She was given access remotely to the server and she worked directly off of the server - at least that is what I was told. This has been in place for a couple of years now. I don't deal with her directly(only the other folks who work there) obviously since I didn't know about this setup. Moot point since it has been in place for a while and all of a sudden she can't print.

Will keep digging. Thanks for your input. Appreciated.

Was thinking of doing a workstation install? Not sure if that will help or not.

Bruce to answer your other question something obviously has changed. What it is I don't know yet obvioulsy.

Hi Scott,

An RPC error indicates Windows is not able to communicate with a device properly. Check that there is a default printer on the server and test it. See if any other program can print using it. Then check to make sure that, when logging into Adagio Payables on the server, the File>Workstation Options don't have printers set up that are not available or don't work from the server.

Found the problem. The printer in question was deleted. Not sure how that occured but anyway once set back up all good.
