New development...
Never had this issue before. Went to open the financial reporter in Adagio Ledger. It appears to start, but closes down on it's own. I've logged out and back in, no change. I've done a complete reboot, no change. Not sure where the issue has come from, could be a Windows 10 update??

Do you or did you have multiple screens connected to your PC? Do you actually see it completely open to a blank report or does it just not show up on your screen even though the toolbar button becomes grayed out?

We've run into something similar to this with a couple of our clients. Do you have a long department group in your department list? There is a known bug in the current version of GL/FR, that if you exit with a department list enabled that has a lot of departments it won't open the next time. I'm not sure what the cut off is for number of departments, but our client's department groups that had this issue are in the dozens.

Create a new user with the same permissions as your old user, can you get into the financial reporter? If so then your department list is likely causing the issue. Until a fix is released you will need to either disable the department selector or switch to a single department before closing the financial reporter.

If I try to access print financial reports either from reports tab or maintenance/maintian Fin reports. Financial Reports starts and appears to open and then just disappears.

Try creating a new user, same issue - financial report starts, blinks on screen and disappears.

-Is the "Financial" button greyed out when that happens?
-How many Departments in your organization?

There have been somewhat similar situations where the problem was a damaged file. But before going in that direction, could you let us know the answers to those 2 questions?

Bob, try this, go to \softrak\ledger\ from that computer and launch LedgerFinRep.exe. Does that work? This launches the 32-bit version of the Fin.Reporter as opposed to the 64-bit from Ledger if you are on the latest version. Does it make a difference?

Bob and I just did a screenshare and it is a strange one.

- Financial Reporter will launch from within Ledger. It will stay open for a few seconds, then the process will end.
- Launching LedgerFinRep.exe resulted in the same happening.

- We disabled the antivirus, then launched LedgerFinRep.exe and it stayed open. Added across the board exemptions for Adagio folders, processes and files. Before even re-enabling the antivirus on a subsequent test the unwanted behaviour returned.

- Behaves the same if we start normally or with elevated admin rights (Admin rights just give us problems accessing our shared drives from the Mac environment - This is a Parallels install)

- We tried uninstalling Ledger, and installing from a fresh download from Softrak, then manually updated the .exe and .chm files for the Hotfix (as we get a network error trying to run it). No luck. We can the odd time get it to stay open, but the majority of the time the process is ended a few seconds after starting and it vanishes from Task Manager.

- A Malware and AV scan were performed, no luck.

Really scratching our heads on this one.

What happens with sample data? That will indicate whether it is a system problem or a specific database problem.

Bruce, Bob seems to have gotten it to stop performing this way by putting Parallels into "full screen mode" instead of how it was running (in an integrated window style in the Mac Environment). We will see if that continues to hold true for us over the next few days and will update if it doesn't.

But to anyone using Parallels to run Adagio in a Mac environment, full screen appears to be the way to go.
