Every morning we import data from our reservation software, SMART Hotel, and post it to the GL. However, this morning I noticed after clicking "Listing" on the imported batch, the Status column for it said "Errors." (It may have said that before, but I only noticed after clicking Listing.)
The batch hasn't been posted yet. I checked the data in the batch against our reservation software, and the data appears to be correct. What causes the Status to say Errors?

When a batch containing transactions with errors is posted, those "bad" transactions are placed into a new batch marked "Errors" (maybe an Import process will do the same thing - haven't tested). The most common reasons are a closed Fiscal Period or an invalid GL account code. To diagnose the error, look at the Batch Listing report. The bad transactions will have a number in the right-hand column. That number will correspond to the list of possible problems listed at the bottom of the report.

The whole batch still came in in one batch, with the whole batch labeled Errors. I found the errors on using the Batch Listing though. It was the GL account code, and I'll have to dig into why it imported like that.
