I cannot see the 'Chart of Accounts' under View in Financial Reporter. I reset the view, I have looked everywhere to see if it is a floating pop out window, and all other views (account data, department, etc.) are all working fine. I can see them, reset them, and even have them as floating pop out windows. I have expanded the Window across two monitors to see if it is hiding, but resetting the view should fix this anyway.

Additionally, when I go to File/Send to Sheets/Chart of Accounts, Financial Reporter closes. All other selections under this command (account data, department, etc.) generate worksheets just as expected, only the Chart of Accounts causes the crash.

I have reinstalled Ledger, installed the latest Hot Fix, run data integrity checks, tested multiple datasets, done all Windows updates, run anti-virus, other Windows maintenance - nothing I have done solves this issue. No other Adagio or Windows issues that I am aware of.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Paul,

I might be as simple as using the Ledger\Windows drop down and click on Original Sizes. This sometimes fixes window popups that have fallen through the cracks. Worth a shot but may not be applicable to the Financial Reporter.

Assuming that your are using current version of GL based on the Hotfix installs. I was dealing with a client on Friday, whose was also experiencing Financial Reporter crashing when generating worksheets but was more specific to lots of departments. We have previously reported Financials crash to Softrak but have not heard back on a resolution.

We're assuming you have checked your data for data integrity.

Is your data using Multi-Currency enabled? We have seen different situations with sites using Multi-currency versus single currency sites.

Regardless of the Adagio version, we would suggest that you attempt the same task in Ledger Sample Data to see if the issue is related to data. Sample data is in the \softrak\Ledger\Samdata folder on your server. You can browse for the folder and use the extension SAM.

If the situation persists in sample data, we would suggest reinstalling the GL but rename the existing Ledger folder, instead of installing over top of the existing install.

And if still persists, call your Adagio consultant and get them to attempt the same on a zipped copy of your GL data on their Adagio servers to see if the issue is specific to your installation environment or not.

All of these suggestions are step by step attempts to isolate where the problem is.

Hi Brian,

Thank you so much for taking the time to offer solutions to this problem. I appreciate your assistance.

I have tried all the resets and multiple datasets with this problem. I also tried reinstalling, but to no avail.

I set-up a new Windows user account and used the existing Adagio install, and this problem has gone away. I kind of wondered if there was a conflict between Adagio and user account control or a local Windows setting, and this 'solution' can't be a coincidence. My IT and programming knowledge is superficial, but since this does not appear to be a widespread user issue, it is likely a local problem. Maybe it's a filename problem, maybe it's another program I have installed, maybe it's gremlins.
