as soon as opening page of inventory comes up a window states that there are historical transactions that need to be retreived would I like to retreive them y/n if I select yes the error adding record to i/c transaction history, record already exists comes up leaving me no alternative but to end the task through task manager. If I select no at the first screen I can caary on as usual. is there a way to get rid of this problem? I did integrity check and found no errors.

I assume from the 'retrieval' message you got, you have recently installed the Adagio Inventory 8.0B upgrade. This version wants to convert the IC historical file so that the new functions like History inquiry can work.

Does your inventory item structure use a single segment? If so, you need to download the April 12, 2006 service pack from the website and install it. You can get the link from here. Perhaps it is worth getting the service pack anyway.

If you install the service pack and still receive the errors, the problem may still have to do with corruption in the historical file. The integrity check is looking at the 'new' historical file, not the 'old' one that is wanting to be converted, if you are using version 8.0B to perform the data integrity check.
