Is there a run-time parameter you can add after C:\Softrak\Ledger\LedgerFinRep.exe on the Target line of a shortcut that can automatically launch a Statement Group?

I'm looking for something similar to what GridView can do with workspaces.

Thanks

Steve

I'm not sure about directly launching a statement group, but you can launch a report set from a shortcut. So you can make a report set and add the statement group to it.

Steve,

From the help file:

Report Sets may also be scheduled to auto print using the Windows Scheduler. You must specify the program and command line parameters it is to run with. Along with the standard /u /p /d and /e parameters, you will add /t to set the session date, /r to specify the Report Set code, /y to specify the owner of the report set if it is not public and /q to quit the program when it is finished. Example: X:\SOFTRAK\Ledger\Ledger.exe /uLS /pLS /dX:\Softrak\Ledger\Samdata /eSAM /t20071231 /r"Statements_for_the_Board" /yLS /q The /r parameter is required. The /y parameter is required when printing a private report set you have access to.

Hi Steve,

Could you describe the user experience you are trying to generate?

Statement Groups are collections of statements (which may contain multiple worksheets), so the architecture is a little different from GridView.

Do you want the user to be able to see all the individual statements in the Statement Group in the financial reporter, or do you want them all to be printed and the user to see the resulting financial statements either as a PDF or printed report.

Dan's solution does the latter. You'd likely have to combine all your statements in the group into a single financial statement to achieve the former.

Hi Steve,

It is possible to open a single statement from a shortcut parameter for editing, but not an entire Statement Group (which can only be printed via report sets as commented on earlier). Here is a command line that works for me:

C:\SOFTRAK\Ledger\LedgerFinRep.exe /uSYS /pSYS /dC:\Softrak\Ledger\Samdata /eSAM GL!Income.SAM

The entire file name is referenced without a parameter.

Note: The report name may need to be enclosed in double quotes (") if it contains embedded blanks.

So many replies - I'll digest them tonight.

Andrew - they want the same experience they currently get with GridView workspaces. They want to be able to generate an Excel Workbook (or a PDF) of a particular statement group "with one click".

Hi Steve,

That functionality is already there directly from the Reports | ExcelDirect Financial Statements menu choice in Adagio Ledger.

No, they want GridView functionality - in other words launching a shortcut and then watching until everything closes. Again, I will test out the comments above tonight.

OK.

That's done with a Report Set.
