Hi,

Using the /XDV or XDW parameter, is there a way or a switch where I can redirect the exported excel to save to specific directory (location) that I want or that I specify?

Right now, I think the exported excel is save in [x:\adagiodatapath]\XDViews.

Hi Marlon,

Since these commands are normally made part of a batch file, if you need the XLSX in a specific Folder then you can copy it after the export is complete.

Does that make sense?

Hi Marlon,

There isn't a parameter to save the Excel file in any desired location of your choosing.

The Help file topic for 'Command line parameters' outlines all the different choices you do have to /XDV or /XDW exporting of view contents to Excel. One other option is to save the file in a date sub-directory using the /XDD switch, to save output for various days without overwriting the previous day export:

/XDD - Creates a subfolder with today's date to hold the Excel workbook under x:\target directory\XDViews or x:\target directory\XDViews\UserID if XDP is specified (where 'UserID' is the Adagio userID of the user logged in to GridView). Folder names take the form yyyy-mm-dd and can be used to separate the ExcelDirect runs from different dates. (Must be used with /XDW or /XDP.)

Another security-based location is the /XDP switch, that saves the Excel file in a sub-folder equal to your user ID, which can be configured in Windows to be prevented from access except for desired Windows users:

/XDP:<workspace> - Launches GridView and sends the named workspace (or View) to Excel without operator intervention. Enter the full data path to the workspace or View. The Excel workbook is placed in the subfolder x:\target directory\XDViews\UserID with the same name as the workspace or View (where 'x:\target directory' is the path to your data and 'UserID' is the ID of the user logged in to GridView).

Thanks Andrew and Support.

At least I know I didn't missed anything when I was reading the help topic.

Hi, Marlon,

One other thing, if you preset your GV Defaults (F2) to use the Save directory you want to use, when you run the /XD? workspace or view it will create the subfolder in that Save directory instead and this can be different than from the data folder it was launched from.

This may or may not be the solution you're really looking for but does provide another option.
