Good day,

Our company is using SalesAnalysis 9.2A (160608) and the day before yesterday we started experiencing a sign in issue. When logging in to SalesAnalysis, we get a popup error:

"Home Currency [ ] not found in the currency file."

Our other Adagio modules log in just fine and the Currency Code for all other modules are set to [CAD]. Our company's files are located at m:\asp\data.

Thank you,

Terrence, IT Technician

Is your Sales Analysis data in the same data folder as your regular Adagio data?

Can you actually get into Sales Analysis or does the error prevent sales Analysis from opening?

Best guess, the first occurrence of the Home Currency code being read is for Adagio to read Sales Analysis' Company Profile, so my guess is that this file is corrupted.

When was the last time you were able to successfully open Sales Analysis? You could try restoring the back up.

Otherwise this is a difficult problem to resolve in this forum, you might want to reach out to your Adagio Consultant for assistance.

Hello Douglas,

To answer your questions in order:

1. Yes, Sales Analysis data is kept in the same folder as other Adagio modules (ie. m:\asp\data\srglob.dat

2. We cannot enter Sales Analysis at all to troubleshoot within SA

3. The last day Sales Analysis worked was this past Friday morning, as our users reported it stopped working around the lunch hour. When asked what work they were doing before lunch, both users reported they were working together to export a file.

I'll see if there is more information to share with the forum for assistance and get in contact with our consultant.

If the data was corrupted Friday morning then I'm thinking that you're going to have to restore the Thursday night backup.

Hi Douglas,

Thank you for responding again. Since I cannot login to SalesAnalysis to do the restore, what would you suggest? can I restore just the SalesAnalysis data set from last Thursday without logging in, or would I have to backup the entire data set again as of today, then restore the complete data set from Last Thursday and see if SalesAnalysis works?

Thank you,

Terrence

Terrence

There is no restore function in Adagio.

I was thinking that you would have some tape or cloud backup process that you could restore from.

If your relying upon the Adagio backups then these are just zip files. The standard location is ....\data\DATABACK\*.zip.

You could restore the entire backup to a temp location and see if you can access Sales Analysis. All good, then I would cut and paste the existing SR*.DAT files to another location to keep them safe (just in case) and then copy the SR*.DAT files from your temp folder to the data folder.

Still having problems, then you need to call in your Adagio Consultant.

Hello Douglas,

My issue has been resolved. For others in a similar situation with Home Currency/login issues, here's what we did:

1. Create a new folder for extracting your backup .zip file (ex. Temp)
2. Extract the last good backup for SalesAnalysis to this new Temp folder (or in our case, the last complete Adagio backup while the software was functional)
3. Confirm if you can open SalesAnalysis by redirecting the data path from the normal location to the Temp folder
4. Optional: If it doesn't work, clear the contents of the Temp folder and extract an older backup .zip file from Step 2.
5. If SalesAnalysis will open, then copy all the SR**.dat files from the normal location to a new folder (ex, Temp2) and move the restored SR**.dat files into the normal location.
6. Open SalesAnalysis again and redirect back to the normal location. Login, retrieve OE sales data and run the data integrity check.

Thanks again Douglas, your advice really helped us smile

Hello again,

We have a follow-up issue related to our Sales Analysis not working from before.

Before the issue we had on Friday, we were able to import records from OrderEntry and create sales reports. However, since we had to restore SR***.dat files from a previous backup, we are unable to generates sales reports for the days in between the last good Sales Analysis backup and the day the Home Currency error occurred. All of the records still exist within OrderEntry, however we are not able to generate reports as the days in between all reflect as $0 balance.

Hi Terrence,

In Adagio SalesAnalysis, there is a function to 'Scan Order Entry' for a given date range. So if you are missing sales transactions in SalesAnalysis for a particular range of dates, and the invoices are still in OrderEntry, it is a simple thing to scan OE for that range of dates.

If you are at all concerned about this, make a backup of your SalesAnalysis data prior to running this.

Hi Terrance

Before using the Scan function, check Company Profile to see whether you want to retrieve taxes and miscellaneous charges.
