Good day to you all,

I am running GV and when creating a new view the GL* tables do not appear.

I have two options:

1. Adagio (Composite tables 9.0A)
2. Adagio Common files 8.1A - 9.1A

There are no other options available.

I have followed both of these through and neither one offers the GL* data...

Does anyone know what might be going on / what i need to do to connect to GL, AP & AR files as none of these are presented as selectable items.

As always, thank you and,

Cheers, JK

The data you are looking at has not been opened by the Ledger/Payables and Receivables in the same Softrak Folder as GridView.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your reply.

I just opened the database with ledger and then re-launched GV.

When opening GV and selecting a database file I select "GLGLOB.SNR" (SNR) is our extension.

I then select "File - New" ( I am running the /C switch ) and I receive the following dialogs:

and then we get to chose:

So, we try it the other way:

and still no GL tables to select from

I must be missing something really dumb!!!

As always, thank you and,

Cheers, JK

Hi,
We contacted John and resolved with an email.

We have seen this issue often enough and it has nothing to do with the dataset you are logged into but an issue with GridView that blocks out the tables. It happens enough times but we haven't had time to report it.

You need to turn on all tables in the default settings to kick start the access to the tables. And funny enough, if you turn off the show all tables in the default, they will now show properly.

They are using GV 9.2B but was an issue in GV 9.1 as well.

Best,
Brian

I stand by my analysis.

Adagio's data layer (ADS) records the currently active dictionary for an application when it is opened by the application. This information is stored in ADSPROF.dat and read when GridView is launched so that only relevant modules and versions are displayed to report on.

If an application has not been opened and ADS has not had a chance to record this information, then it will not be displayed by GridView to report on, unless the "/a" parameter is added to the GridView command line. Copying in an incorrect version of ADSPROF.dat will also result in an incorrect display.
