I set up two cheque specifications from one workstation. When I looked at it from another workstation, all my font sizes and box sizes are different. Why? How can I fix this without redoing it all?

Hi Sheldon,

First make sure that both workstations are using the same screen resolution, and more importantly that neither have the Windows display properties of Large Fonts enabled. Right-click on the screen and choose properties. Screen 4 shows a font size setting, and screen 5 (advanced) shows a DPI (dots per inch) setting - Adagio requires both to be set as Normal. This latter setting not being Normal has been known to throw off specification printing and display.

The workstations do not have the same resolution. Is this a problem if we print from various workstations? I don't care about the viewing on screen but I do care about the printing.

Screen resolution shouldn't be an issue in of itself, but the Large Fonts / DPI settings definitely would be.

Both settings are set to normal. So it must be something else. Any other suggestions?

The only other thing that could affect printing is the Printer driver. If these are different between the 2 workstations, or even have some different settings, then this also could potentially cause the printout to change.

If all the printer driver settings are the same, and all the DPI/display options are also the same, it doesn't follow that printout would differ from one workstation to the next. Do all check specs have the same problem, or just the 2 that you set up?

Sheldon, do you want to tell us how you solved the problem so others searching the forum can find your answer?

BTW ... if the printer driver is the problem, you can sometimes solve these issues by installing a simple but common printer driver on each system, like LaserJet III or 4. Most laser printers emulate these pretty well.'

Ralph, no problem, it was the DPI as previously suggested, only it was incorrect on the PC I assumed would be right. Changed them all to match an everything worked great.
