Error retrieving batch APALBTCH

We installed the latest updates and service packs: AR V9.2A (170711), EFT V9.3A (170624), Ledger V9.3A (170625), AP V9.3A (170623). The installation went fine. The first batch to be retrieved from the AP module created the message:" ERROR retrieving batch APALBTCH. Your data may be damaged please restore from backup."
The transactions are posted to the AP subledger.
Is there another option other than restoring from back up ?
Thank up

Further to the question: I ran the data integrity check and message when attempting to retrieve subledger batch: "Invalid record type in batch file"

Thank you for your response. The report is garbage. We have confirmed that all the transactions in each vendor file of the AP sub-ledger are correct. Fortunately this is a very small batch file with 9 invoices payable to 5 separate vendors. The fear is the next batch is rather large and would be very costly to re-enter.

Hi Mike,
I downloaded the 4 zips you sent up, for both the before and after company data for AP and GL.
With the data zips for AP and GL dated July 13, already converted to the 9.3A data-level, I simply unzipped these both, opened Ledger 9.3A, and retrieved the AP batch. I did not get an error and batch 527 was created with 29 entries. If this is the data that you are experiencing the problem, I was not able to replicate. --- There was a data conversion for the file length of batch file that gets retrieved from Payables into Ledger, for version 9.3A. In addition, there is a another data file that manages the subledger batch retrieval, that also has a change to the file size to match. If the actual data file and the managing retrieval file get out of synch, then that would result in the error you reported, but that was not the case in the data you uploaded that was converted to 9.3A - both were updated successfully to the new size.
If you still get the error with the data at the 9.3A level - I presume when you are in Ledger and attempt to do the Retrieve - then could you check with Windows Explorer and the data directory, what the file size of APBRSCAL.DAT is? Right-click on the file and choose Properties. The older pre-9.3A file will be 533 bytes, and the updated 9.3A file will be 561 bytes. Perhaps also within Payables, preview the GL Transactions report, just to confirm that the results look correct, and not corrupted, to make sure that data files and dictionaries are in synch.
Can you also confirm that you regularly store the Payables and Ledger data in the same folder? And also confirm that you have the Payables and Ledger programs installed and accessed from the same \Softrak folder? The process of moving the batch retrieval process up to the newer, larger files requires that the Payables and Ledger programs and data can 'see' each other, to know when the appropriate timing for the size change.
