The problem is then i have to alphbetize each batch within the letter. because in Ar i print by short name. So how can I elimante hours of work and print invoice bathes alphbetcal so i can match AR and AI invoice together

Hello kevin,

Why not make use the of the move transactions function to keep the batches in the required order as new invoices are added?

Hi Kevin,

If you 'move' an invoice (ie copy an invoice but to the same batch, rather than a different batch), then that invoice gets put at the bottom. This could be useful for existing invoices in a batch.

If you highlight an invoice and press the 'insert' key on your keyboard, that will create a new invoice above the highlighted record. This would be useful for adding new invoices in a batch.

And in the next release of Adagio Invoices, you will be able to sort invoices within a batch. Though 'short name' is not a field stored in Adagio Invoices batches, so it isn't available to sort by. Customer name will be available.

Kevin:

I believe that Invoices 8.0 will be available in the next 3 to 4 months but there is something that you can do in the meantime.

You can export the Archived batch into Excel format and then sort it on Customer Code or Name. Sort as follows:
Customer Code (or name) - Ascending
New Detail - Descending

When you save the spreadsheet, leave it in Excel 2.1 format just in case.

Then import the file either directly into an new Invoice batch or back into a new Archives batch.

Hi Bruce,

Wihle this works, there s some risk as you move the data into and out of Excel.

I still think that the easiest method is to keep the transactions in the desired order using the "Insert" key, and moving transaftoins around within a batch to keep them in order.
