A client loves the new feature to be able to post Payables transactions to Ledger based on the accounting date rather than the document date.

They want the same ability when they retrieve Payables transactions into JobCost. When it asks to post the Cost batch, they would like to limit posting based on the accounting date. That way the Jobs in Progress report has a chance of reconciling to the Ledger.

Is this something that will happen?

As a related question, can the accounting date field be fed to JobCost so I can create a custom report using that date?

Hi Steve,

At the current time, Adagio JobCost 9.2A does not store the Accounting Date in either Cost or Bill batches, in order to manually edit this for a batch, or retrieve the respective value from Payables or Receivables. A data structure change to batches would be required to accommodate this feature.

Will it happen? Your suggestion has been forwarded to R&D.

The problem is that when the job cost batch is retrieved in GL, it will be in the period of the invoice date, not the accounting date. So then I have to change the period again. This is relevant since the job cost related expenses flow to job cost for posting.

I hope you see how this ends up defeating the purpose of using the Accounting Date for job-related invoices.
