Is it possible to use the hyperlinks in Crystal to link information from different Crystal reports?

Prospect would like to display a customer's order, showing items on PO, and the PO number as a reference, then drill down to the PO to look up when the item is expected. He thinks his engineers would have trouble seeing what they need in a GridView report.

So from the Order Entry header, you want to link to Purchase Orders Header (from OE reference to PO number) and have a second report print the PO information? That sounds reasonable, though it may take some time to generate the sub-report...

Another possible choice is to link the OE detail (the item number) to the PO detail by item number.

For either, I'm guessing the report structure would be the main report based on Order Entry header and detail files, then an 'on-demand' sub-report based on PO header and details. The link field would be either OE reference (or item number), linking to the sub-report by PO number (or PO item number) and the sub-report link setting would filter records (ie only showing PO details for that PO or item, not all POs or items).

If the two linking fields (ie reference and PO number) have different field lengths, you would have to create formula fields to Trim leading/trailing spaces. You can use formula fields as linking fields with sub-reports.

GridView could do this too (ie linking OE reference to PO number, or OE details to PO details by the item number), but whether you choose Crystal or GridView would depend on what sort of printed output you need and also how the information is organized.
