Hello all,
I'm trying to install AP Upgrade 20160208 (9.2B). OS is Windows 7, there is one workstation and Adagio and data reside on a server.

I am right clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator.' (As always.)

When we start the install we get the question about the location of ODBC and I click to accept that and then pretty quickly after that I get the following error:

Cannot open INSTALL.LOG.

Can't find anything here on the forum or in the Install Errors for 9.2 document on the Partner Portal.

Please help!

What happens if you click OK and to the error message. Does the install continue or does it close?

I've received that message at least ten times and clicked OK without any adverse consequences that I could tell.

I think this error message happens when it finds and older version and it tries to uninstall it.
I has happened to me several times too.

When I click OK, it closes and terminates the installation.

I believe they do have an 8.1x version still on their server. Should I try uninstalling the older version?

Hi, Carol,

We're going to need some more information here. Are you upgrading from 8.1x or 9.2A?

When you select Run as Administrator, are you asked to enter additional credentials?

Hi, again,

I just retested installing to a Softrak folder having more than one legacy version already installed in it, including AP8.1x. I did an upgrade install from AP9.2A to 9.2B.

While I received a number of information messages about my existing install and what would happen if I proceeded with the AP9.2B(161208) upgrade install, I did not receive the 'Cannot Install.log' message and the install successfully completed.

I tested with AP9.2B uninstalling AP8.1F and with AP8.1F already uninstalled.

Are all of the Windows updates done on the w/s? May seem strange but not being up to date has interfered before.

Carol, what happens if their overall network administrator does the install?

Can you email me an Adagio Snapshot, preferably one taken while logged directly onto their server?

What is the OS of their server?

This happens when the older version has not been installed on the current workstation.
