How do I reset all of the page breaks in financial reporter? Most of my breaks are not in the right spots when I preview or print, and just removing and re-inserting them doesn't seem to do anything. I've got page breaks showing where I haven't inserted any, and alot of the breaks I have inserted don't seem to work. I've manually removed all breaks, but it seems that there are still internal page breaks or something because when previewing my sheet there are breaks in completely random spots. Super frustrating.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Jean,

Make sure you don't have Print - Fit to page options turned on. Also, remove any blank columns. Manual Page breaks are marked with a red bar on the row or column. Ctrl-B turns them on or off.

I have the columns set to fit to page, if I don't then it's too wide...the rows are not set to fit to page. And there are no spare columns that I can delete. I only have the page breaks on my rows, and they seem to work just fine until page 10 or 11 and then they are all messed up. Do you mean to say that the row page breaks don't work if I have the columns fitting to the page? I'm sure that we didn't use to have this problem until a few years ago.

Jean:

Is it possible the page breaks are occurring because you are trying to include too many rows on a page?

Sometimes the page breaks are in hidden rows, make sure all rows are unhidden.

Sometimes the page breaks get corrupted, though it has been a long time since I've seen this. If I recall correctly, not only do you have to delete the row with the page break but you have to delete the row above as well.

Otherwise it becomes an issue of tracking down the culprit by comparing where the page break occurs on paper to what is in the same spot on your financial statement file.

Some of the pages that the page breaks are messed up on only show a couple of rows on the page, so it's not a matter of trying to fit too many rows to a page. I've also already checked for hidden rows and there are none. As for deleting the rows with the page breaks, some of the pages are breaking where there is no page break set...so I don't really know how to tackle that.

There's a Service Pack to Ledger planned for the next few weeks that includes a new version of the financial reporter. You might want to wait and see if the problem goes away with that.

Hopefully it does, but I'm trying to complete my year end and am needing to be able to print my statements and working papers. Is this something that technical support would be able to fix if I sent them my data?
