Am I doing something wrong? In page setup, if I tick "Fit rows to 1 pages tall" it completely ignores my page breaks and just puts all 500 rows onto one page. How do I get this setting to work with my page breaks? I find that I'm constantly changing the heights of my rows if I need to add a row in order for my pages to stay as I've set them.

Thanks
Jean

Hi Jean,

You are not doing anything wrong. To date, the features for inserting page breaks and fitting pages to a specific size are mutually exclusive and cannot be used together.

The next release of Adagio Ledger with an updated Financial Reporter program will be able to handle both features on the same statement. There is no ETA for this upgrade at the current time.

I just installed the ledger & FR upgrade and I still can't seem to retain my page breaks when I tick "fit rows to 1 page tall" ...just wondering if this feature wasn't fixed in the new FR version?

Hi Jean,

With 'Fit rows to one page tall', Row Page Breaks are indeed ignored. The change was to accommodate Fit Columns to 1 page wide.

How many page breaks to you have on your sheet, covering those 500 rows? About how many rows are between page breaks on average, that you hope to fit on one page?

Unless there is a very specific reason why all the different sections have to be on the same sheet with page breaks, I would recommend that each section should be on separate tabs within the same Financial workbook, when you want to Fit to Page, rather than rely on Page Breaks. With the new options to Pin the fiscal period and department, you can now affect all tabs simultaneously with selected information, and Statement Groups can print all the sheets within a workbook at once, thus the end result won't look any different as if they had been printed from a single sheet.

For example I have my balance sheet on one tab, and I have several of my working papers referencing the balance sheet on the same tab (around 15-20 pages per tab). I would set up the different WPs on separate tabs but I can't seem to reference cells in other tabs like I can in excel - at least I don't think I can, has that changed? So often when I add a line to a page it forces that particular page to now take up two pages and it takes alot of fiddling and resizing row heights in order to get it to fit back onto one page. One particular page I keep having troubles with is 60 rows in height.

You can use QUERYSHEET() to pick up the values on another tab, but in the Financial Reporter it is often easier just to recalculate the value from the other sheet.

Thanks Andrew. Is there an example of that formula in the templates somewhere?

Press F1 Help and search for QUERYSHEET.
