Hello,

I'm setting up a new company from scratch. Is there a way to make numbers to contain 4 decimal places without the Multi-Currently module?

Hi Marlon,

Which numbers? All of them, or just selected numbers.

Alternate price lists in IC allow setting Unit Prices with up to 6 decimals. And PurchaseOrders also allows setting the Unit Cost to have more than 2 decimals.

Most amounts have decimals come from the currency.

There is a way, but if your home currency is US$, it will be quite ugly. EVERYTHING will be out to 4 decimals, including checks, invoices, financials, and all reports. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

4 decimal places across the board. What I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to accommodate pricing with 3 to 4 decimal places on both Purchase Order, Credit Note, Sales Order, Invoice.

Adagio carries 6 decimal digits of precision on the sales side. Just use a small stocking unit of measure and increase the number of digits being displayed in the unit price by right clicking on the item in the form designer and changing the display properties.

You cannot be charging your customer anything less that a penny on your invoice once the total is displayed. Having everything display in 4 decimal digits is going to drive you crazy.

Hi Marlon

Andrew is right, but I'm going to say it another way.

Based on what you are looking to do, you definitely want a 2 decimal currency. PurchaseOrders, Inventory and OrderEntry can easily accommodate 4 decimal unit pricing/costing within the framework of 2 decimals (i.e. pennies) for everything else.

This is the kind of thing you want to discuss with your Adagio Consultant. It's not the easiest setup, and there is some compromise involved, but I have done this for a number of clients so I know it can work.
