Hi,
We are upgrading our client sites to Bank Rec 9.2 (151008).

In addition to using Bank Rec for bank accounts, we are using the Bank Rec for reconciling all credit cards where each credit card is a bank. A huge time saver. All we do is import the credit card statement as an electronic import file (from the credit card company), and we can add the GL account department (with rules for recurring regular charges), and vendor#'s for unapplied payments for vendors paid by that credit card.

The solution works sweet, because we are able to add the GL account, GL Department, with the Tax distribution to automatically calculate and distribute the included taxes of the payment( when applicable), to the left screen and display our entries on the respective columns in the window on the screen. It is a huge improvement over using Excel to distribute and reconcile the many credit card statements and then entering as Payables distributions in AP for the credit card vendor.

The only problem is that even though we have the "save window size" enabled for all users in the user preferences (in BankRec), and we have the window column definitions for the bank statement load (left window) "saved for all users" (in the grid definition), every time we open up the reconciliation window and go to import the bank statement, the windows' size on the left part of the screen is never saved. It's like something is overriding my request to save the window size.

We always have to adjust the window pane in the middle to reset the size of both of the windows, And so the window pane setting is actually a pain.

Given that we have enabled saving for all users, the window size in Bank Rec and the same for the columns in the grid, where would we go to save the actual window size settings in Bank Rec so that every time we open the reconcile window and import statements, the window sizes of each window are actually saved?

Once we have imported the bank statement and then resized the window(s) again, the setting is saved on successive opening of the reconciliation with 2 windows, until we reopen to import the statement the next time. And then we get to resize the windows' pane or the split between both window.

I suppose if we didn't want to see the extra columns on the left side of the window it would not be an issue, but we would like to see the columns and like to see the window settings saved from the last time we imported a bank statement.

Does anyone know where you get to save the window settings for the split screen in Bank Rec?

Thanks,
Brian

Brian:

This has been a problem since day one. No idea why Softrak has never fixed it. I agree its a pain and inconsistent with the normal save windows size and position function.

As Doug mentioned, it has always worked that way. Our screen save settings do not have a slot for the position of a splitter bar. BankRec was the first Adagio module to use this control. As our method of storing these settings has changed recently, R&D may be able to revisit the issue.

Thanks, That would be great if there was some consideration or resolution to this.
We'll advise our clients that it has always worked that way.
Best,
Brian
